Retailers: Overview

In addition to dealing with and on behalf of multiple retailers across the country on a broad range of issues affecting their retail outlets Fawley Watson Booth have developed particularly close relationships with a number of companies and a brief summary of a few of our clients and our involvement on their behalf is set out in the following pages.

Card Factory

The Yorkshire based retailer, Sportswift Limited trading as Card Factory is one of the most acquisitive companies on the High Street seeking retail units of between 1000 and 1500 sq ft from the South Coast to the Scottish Highlands.

Fawley Watson Booth has been fully retained and instrumental in assisting in the rapid growth of this retailer over the last 5 years acquiring over 40 units in 2004/2005 in towns such as Ashford, Banbury, Bangor, Basildon, Birmingham, Blackpool, Cannock, Colchester, Croydon, Hamilton, Hanley, Hemel Hempstead, Lewisham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Morecambe, Romford, Rugby, Worthing and Wythenshawe.

Costa

Costa, the UK’s leading Coffee Company with over 360 units nationwide has retained Fawley Watson Booth to acquire new sites in Yorkshire and the North East.

New stores of between 750 - 2000 sq ft are sought in High Streets, Shopping Centres, neighbourhood and factory outlet locations.

Crawshaws

Crawshaws are a successful award winning family butchers currently operating from 12 outlets in Yorkshire with a client list of major suppliers & catering companies.

Crawshaws require new outlets of 1,100 to 1,750 sq ft, both on the High Street and on out of town retail parks. Fawley Watson Booth are the retained agents for the company and are seeking to expand Crawshaws' representation within the North of England.

Evolution

Evolution are a branch of Windhorse Trading Ltd retailing gifts from around the world from stores in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Dublin, Essen, Germany, Glasgow, Ipswich, London, Wood Green, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Sheffield, Redditch and Valencia.

Fawley Watson Booth have represented Evolution for a number of years in relation to the acquisition of new branches, relocations and more recently in connection with landlord and tenant matters.

Grattan Plc

Grattan Plc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Otto Versand best known for its Grattan, Freemans and Kaleidoscope catalogues but also represented on the High Street and out of town.

Fawley Watson Booth are retained to provide a full range of property services in relation to the company’s retail operations trading as The Big Discount Store, Catalogue Discount Stores, Scoops and Manor Grove.

A current programme of rationalisation has involved Fawley Watson Booth in providing a more flexible portfolio of retail outlets whilst disposing of surplus High Street outlets in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, Runcorn, Cowdenbeath, Dumbarton, Hawick, Bingley and Heckmondwike together with substantial retail warehouses on Crown Point, Leeds, Southgate Retail Park, Derby and Austin Drive, Coventry.

J D Wetherspoon

J D Wetherspoon which commenced trading in 1979 has been one of the fastest growing companies in the UK and now has over 750 licensed retail outlets. Fawley Watson Booth are the company’s retained agents for the Yorkshire and Humber area and have been involved in the acquisition of over 40 branches during this period.

Jane Shilton

Cellini and Jane Shilton are the High Street trading names of Jane Shilton Plc one of the UK’s best known brands of leather goods, handbags, footwear and luggage and available in over 1000 outlets worldwide from stand-alone high street units to department store concessions.

In the UK Jane Shilton has a long established representation on the High Street and within factory outlets/designer centres. Fawley Watson Booth have been involved in providing all aspects of property advice in relation to the company’s outlets in the North of England for many years.

T K Maxx

T K Maxx is part of the T J X Companies Inc the worlds leading off price retailer with over 1500 stores worldwide trading as T J Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, A J Wright (all USA), Winners (Canada) and T K Maxx (Europe).

The European arm launched in Spring 2004 now has over 150 stores in the UK alone.

T K Maxx trade from a variety of scale of store units in town centres and out of town across the UK.
